Ozark Fiber
Network Management Policy
Last Updated: October 8, 2024
Ozark Fiber is dedicated to being a best-in-class internet service provider, giving our subscribers the freedom to work, play and connect without limits. We strive to provide the most reliable and fastest internet connection possible without unnecessary data or usage limitations.
This Network Management Policy (this “Policy”) provides you with information relating to our network management practices and should be read in conjunction with the Ozark Fiber Acceptable Use Policy and Service Terms and Conditions. This Policy may be revised from time to time. The date this Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page.
Network Management. Ozark Fiber’s fiber optic network is designed to provide our subscribers with highly reliable internet and data transmission services. Our network has multiple levels of redundancy. Our equipment and fiber facilities are designed to minimize the occurrence of unplanned outages resulting from a fiber cut or equipment malfunction. We monitor the performance and availability of our network to proactively identify any potential bandwidth constraints and to resolve any network outages as quickly as possible.
No Blocking or Data Prioritization. Subject to the terms of our Acceptable Use Policy, Ozark Fiber:
- Does not block or otherwise prevent access to lawful content, applications, services, or non-harmful devices;
- Does not throttle data or degrade or impair access to lawful internet traffic on the basis of content, application, service, user, or use of a non-harmful device;
- Does not prioritize or favor any traffic over other traffic, whether for affiliates or in exchange for consideration;
- Does not block or impose rate controls for specific protocols or protocol ports nor restrict interconnection of specific network devices.
Ozark Fiber reserves the right to terminate, temporarily block, or filter service to any subscriber without notice should they violate, or we reasonably believe they have violated or are violating, the terms of our Policies, including our Acceptable Use Policy, or if the subscriber is otherwise jeopardizing the integrity of the network.
If you believe any data or content is being blocked, throttled, or otherwise interfered with in any way, please contact us at 866-696-9275 or info@ozarkfiber.com.
Internet Service Speeds. Ozark Fiber offers its internet services at a variety of industry-leading speeds. The service speeds identified in Ozark Fiber’s marketing materials and other communications with you reflect service capability speeds “up to” the noted speed and are not a speed guarantee. The speed measurement advertised by Ozark Fiber refers to the internet access speed provisioned to a subscriber on a per-line or per-residence basis and not a per-device basis.
Actual speeds will vary and depend on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to:
- The performance of your computer, including its age, processing capability, operating system, the number of applications running simultaneously and the presence of any spyware or viruses;
- The type of connection you are using for a particular device (e.g. ethernet cable or Wi-Fi). For example, wireless connections may be slower than direct connections into a router or Wi-Fi gateway. Wireless connections also may be subject to greater fluctuations, interference and congestion;
- The destination of your data requests and traffic on the Internet;
- The congestion or usage levels at the website or destination. If the website or destination you are accessing is being accessed by a large number of visitors, the site or destination may not have sufficient capacity to efficiently or effectively service all of the visitors; and
- Other limitations imposed by the networks, websites, or destinations where your data travels to that are outside of Ozark Fiber’s control.
Congestion Management. Our network and its bandwidth through which we provide Internet access service are shared among all users. This means that our customers share upstream and downstream bandwidth. To ensure all our customers have a high-quality Internet access experience, the FCC allows Ozark Fiber to engage in reasonable network management practices, including congestion management practices. Active congestion management practices typically involve the use of network management tools which can cause minor and temporary impairments to a user’s experience. To date, however, Ozark Fiber has not determined it necessary to deploy any network management tools. Rather, Ozark Fiber monitors its networks for utilization trends. We use this information to plan and implement increases in available bandwidth, port additions or additional connectivity to the Internet which enhance our customers’ service and user experience. We expect new technologies or unforeseen developments in the future may make it necessary to implement a new or different congestion management program, and we will update these disclosures with any new or materially different congestion management program or should we begin use of congestion management tools.
Network and End User Security. We employ certain practices to maintain the security of our network and our end users from unwanted and harmful activities. These include practices designed to protect against denial-of-service attacks and to prevent malware, spyware, spam and identity theft. To preserve the effectiveness of our security practices, we do not publicly disclose specific information detailing the levels and types of activities that may trigger our deployment of security protection measures. When security measures are employed, they may affect performance characteristics of the service or the ability to access certain suspicious websites, but such measures are employed in a manner designed to have non-discriminatory impact on all similarly-situated customers and end-users.
